Strata Community Association Queensland (SCAQ)
SCAQ is the leading professional body for the strata industry in Queensland. We represent one of the fastest growing and most influential sectors across the economy.
Founded in 1984 as the Body Corporate Managers Institute of Queensland, we were renamed Strata Community Association Queensland (SCAQ) in 2002. Over the years, we have evolved from a volunteer-run organisation with six members to a professional body representing over 1200 individuals and businesses.
We are dedicated to advocating for important legislative changes, assisting members in complying with existing legislation, providing career development and training opportunities, and offering professional accreditation for the strata industry.
SCAQ is the peak industry body for professional strata management. Our members include strata management professionals and a wide range of service providers to the strata industry. These service providers cover areas such as painting, energy, water and plumbing, elevator maintenance, cleaning, surveyors and valuers, glaziers, and pool servicing and maintenance. We also represent professional service providers working with the industry, including solicitors, accountants, insurance providers, and IT providers.
Our members support bodies corporate to manage in exces of $280 billion worth of assets in Queensland. The strata community generates over $1.75 billion annually in economic activity and supports more than 62,000 direct and indirect jobs for Queenslanders.
