Always prepared, Richards experience as a media personality and professional athlete means he is able to think on his feet and develop great rapport with the audience. We are pleased to announce that the Attorney-General of Queensland, the Hon. Deb Frecklington MP will be opening the upcoming QStrata.
Deb had a varied background prior to entering Parliament, managing cattle and cropping properties whilst also owning a law firm specialising in family and property law. Elected to Parliament in 2012 she was Assistant Minister for Finance, Administration and Regulatory Reform and Assistant Minister to the Premier throughout the Newman Government. In Opposition, she became the first female leader of the Liberal National Party.
Part of Deb’s remit as Attorney-General is to work with industry stakeholders to ensure positive reform of the strata sector in Queensland. This is something we are excited to work with her on. We are incredibly grateful to have Deb open our conference and look forward to an insightful discussion on the future of strata.

Fiona Cunningham is proud to work with residents, charities, small businesses, clubs, schools, environment and community groups in her role representing more than 45,000 people in the Ward of Coorparoo.
Fiona was born and schooled in Brisbane. She has a Bachelor of Communication (Journalism and Marketing) and early in her career worked as a radio and television journalist in regional centres and in Sydney.
Fiona lives at Coorparoo with her young family, after having previously lived at Greenslopes, Stones Corner and Camp Hill. She is Civic Cabinet Chair of Finance and City Governance and was also the first member of the Lord Mayor’s Cabinet to have a baby while in this leadership position.
Fiona is a Director on the Small Steps for Hannah Foundation. She has become an advocate alongside local residents Sue and Lloyd Clarke who have fought for the criminalisation of coercive control and promoting healthy and respectful family relationships.
Fiona has been a finalist in the Australia-wide McKinnon Prize, which recognises outstanding political leadership and inspires leaders to deliver positive impact to their communities.
With two young boys keeping her focused on a better Brisbane for tomorrow, Fiona is passionate about striking a balance between affordability and liveability, as we prepare to be an Olympic city.

Dr Jemma King
Dr Jemma King is a stress, sleep and recovery expert with a PhD in Human Behaviour. She is a Fellow at the University of Queensland School of Psychology and conducts research on the impact of psychophysiological factors on cognitive and behavioural performance, specifically in the areas of stress, sleep, recovery protocols, cold exposure, microbiome, biometrics, emotional intelligence and psychological safety. She works as a specialist external advisor to McKinsey & Co and has consulted with the Australian Defence Force, the Centre for Australian Army Leadership, the Australian Institute of Sport, and the Australian Olympic Swim Team. She is a reviewer for the journal Scientific Reports Nature. Jemma has developed a pre-deployment biopsychosocial 'Performance Optimisation Program' for Special Operations Command that has effectively displayed measurable improvements in behavioral and performance-based outcomes. Jemma has lectured at the University of Sydney MBA on critical thinking and decision-making, RMIT teaches leadership and EI at the Australian Command and Staff Course at the Australian Defence College, and supervises PhD students at the UQ School of Psychology. She is also conducting several research projects including ‘Performance Under Pressure in High Stress Environments’, 'Executive Leadership Factors of Performance' and 'Leaders' Impact on Team Psychological Safety' with Harvard Professor Amy Edmondson. She has recently conducted research validating the Wim Hof Method for improving mental health, cognitive and physical performance. Jemma was an Associate Lecturer in Organisational Behaviour at the University of Queensland Business School. Additionally, she consults with large organisations and privately consults with many elite and Olympic athletes, C-suite executives to help them perform under pressure, manage stress, and foster team performance. Her qualifications include a Bachelor of Science majoring in Psychology, a Bachelor of Business Management 1st Class Honours, and a Doctor of Human Behaviour. She has also studied psychoneuroimmunology, endocrinology, neuroscience, anatomy, and medical microbiology. Fun facts, Jemma was a model, managed a nightclub in Moscow, and was a stunt double in Police Academy 7, she is a mother of three and lives in Queensland.

Glen is the founding Managing Director of Greencross and was a co-founder and Director of Mammoth Pet Holdings Pty Ltd (Petbarn) before it merged with Greencross. Growing up on a grazing property near Richmond NW Qld is where Glen’s love and passion for animals began. His parents owned a number of properties and farmed sheep and cattle. At 27, Glen bought a small vet practice in Townsville and within 10 short years, had developed five vet clinics and a large format pet store in Townsville as well as two veterinary hospitals in China. From there, he went on to build a multi-million dollar integrated pet care empire, which now operates more than 160 veterinary hospitals in Australia and New Zealand. Greencross is also Australasia’s leading specialty pet care retailer, with more than 230 stores operating under the brand names Petbarn and City Farmers in Australia and Animates in New Zealand. The company employs over 5500 employees including veterinarians, nurses, retail team members and managers. Since moving from an executive role, Glen spends his time as a professional investor, mentor, and director with a number of companies. Glen is currently Chairman of Healthia Pty Ltd and People Infrastructure. As well as being on the board of ASX listed companies Greencross, People Infrastructure and Regeneus his favourite area of interest is helping to scale up health and allied health companies. Joshua Baldwin has been a dedicated professional in the strata industry since 2011, beginning as a strata manager. He is currently the Principal and Executive Director of Munro Property Group in South Australia.
His involvement with the Strata Community Association (SCA) began in 2013 as a South Australia Chapter Board member. Serving as SA/NT Chapter President for six years, he led the successful merger of the South Australian and Northern Territory chapters, strengthening industry collaboration. In 2023, he became Immediate Past President, shifting focus to national initiatives and advocacy.
In July 2024, Joshua was appointed President of SCA Ltd. His leadership continues to drive policy reform, industry engagement, and stakeholder collaboration. In 2010, Peter became the first supplier services professional elected to the SCA(Vic) board. In 2012, former SCA CEO Erik Adrianne requested Peter’s assistance in organising suppliers to fund the inception of the SCA(ACT) Branch.
In 2015 Peter was awarded the Max Dunn Award for his services to the Nsw Strata Industry. In 2024 he was voted onto the SCA(NSW) board and is the chair of the NSW events committee.

Jessica Cannon is a partner at Chambers Russell Lawyers and an industry expert in strata law and community titles law.
In 2022 Jessica was elected as a director of the Strata Community Association Queensland (SCAQ). In 2020 Jessica was appointed to the Legislation and Advocacy Committee and on becoming a director nominated as the Chair of the Committee in 2022. In her time as both a member and Chair, SCAQ has been a key stakeholder in advocating for and amplifying the voice of strata.
Jessica holds a Bachelor of Laws and bachelor of international relations (majoring in government and politics). She was admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland in January 2012. Her 12 years of strata law experience has seen her successfully act for many bodies corporate navigating complicated strata disputes.

Mel Loy is a self-confessed serial ideator, obsessed with how humans behave and what that means for effective communication. She got her start in the world of words by studying journalism, and soon discovered that while she never wanted to be a journalist, she loved learning about the power of communication.
Fast forward 20-plus years, and her resume was stacked with increasingly responsible corporate communication roles across emergency services, construction and mining, early learning, retail and more.
In late 2020, after leading her corporate communication team through the COVID-19 pandemic, Mel happily accepted a redundancy and skipped off towards the horizon, starting her own agency and never looking back.
